Well Done Positive Pakistan - Story of Mr Jassar Aftab"I am M. Jassar Aftab and I am a student of DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Science) at University of Agriculture Faisalabad. My two research papers entitled "Buffalo-Milk Production Potential and its Comparative Milk Qualities" and "Camel and Small Ruminants: Assessment of Usefulness of Their Milk With Some Dairying Prospects" were submitted to IDF International Symposium on Sheep, Goat and other non-Cow Milk to be held in Athens Greece. Both my papers were accepted for presentation and I was invited to attend the conference. Normally in such cases Higher Education Commission provides financial support to researchers but in my case HEC refused as I was an undergraduate student. Some non-governmental and governmental organizations related to dairy sector and youth development were also requested but there was no positive response.
At last I discussed the whole matter with Mr. Abid Iqbal Khari who helped me a lot and arranged financial support but it was too late as there was one week left and visa could not be issued. So it was decided that although I was not be able to attend conference but I should submit registration fee in order to publish my papers for the conference. So, on the request of Mr. Abid Iqbal Khari, my registration fee was submitted by Mr. Abdullah Bin Khurram and Mr. Qasim Khokher.
I may be the first undergraduate student in Pakistan whose research work has been accepted at international level specially in buffalo and Camel sector which unfortunately have always been neglected. I am not disappointed and I am determined to continue my work.
I am highly thankful to Positive Pakistan Foundation and its fellows Mr. Abdullah Bin Khurram and Mr. Qasim Khokher for their sincere support."
